Relationship needs rebuilding - Webber

Mark Webber admits the relationship between himself and Sebastian Vettel needs rebuilding following the team orders problems in Malaysia.

Yesterday, Vettel apologised for ignoring Red Bull's team orders but not for winning the race at Sepang, having overtaken Webber in the final stint of the grand prix. Webber was keen to move on from the issue in China but asked if trust needed to be rebuilt from Vettel's side, Webber replied: "Obviously it's been strained again, the relationship.

"It's not the first time obviously, so I think let's see how it goes in the future. At the moment we'll focus on our own individual performances and go from there.

"I think the team did not a bad job in Malaysia, actually. They were trying to do probably what they could do for the first time in a while, and just the scenario happened that we saw. For me, it was a very awkward situation for a lot of people and we need to come here ... that scenario or any scenario might never ever happen again this year, but it might happen this weekend. So that's something we don't know and let's see what decisions are made in the future."

Asked about his future with Red Bull, Webber said he would certainly see out the season and wouldn't rule out remaining with the team longer term.

"Well first of all I'm definitely keen to finish the season. Obviously a lot of people were questioning that one, which was certainly not something that was in my mind. I'm definitely keen to race this year, put together a very strong campaign and challenge for more wins; you do enough of that and some more things can happen so that's the first goal.

"The next part is year-by-year. That's how it's always been for me so come the summer I will talk to Dietrich [Mateschitz] and then go from there. If I'm driving well and performances are good then we'll make some decisions in the future. At the moment it's the second or third race and I've never ever made decisions on my career at this point in the season. Obviously it's a bit of a topic at the moment for different reasons but I don't see why I should make any decisions at the moment for the future."
