Bruno Senna has denied he is driving for Renault for commercial reasons, but is hoping he can attract some sponsors from his home country of Brazil in the near future.

Senna has replaced Nick Heidfeld at the team for the next two races, with his position for the final six races resting on a court decision next month. When the deal was announced on Wednesday there was speculation that there was a financial incentive as Renault's owner Genii Capital has recently merged its operations with a Brazilian company. But Boullier denied any connection on Friday, and Senna insists he has brought no new money to the team.

"If you look at the team right now there are no new stickers on the car or on myself, and that's not the reason that I'm in the car," he said. "I'm in the car because the team has been preparing me, they trust that I can do a good job and they're probably looking to the future.

However, he is hoping his new position in the team will encourage further investment in Renault.

"Of course there's a great commercial potential for the team with myself in it and hopefully we can exploit that," he added. "But I'm confident that the team is not giving me the opportunity just because of that, but because they believe I can do a good job."
