Robert Kubica will stay at Renault next season, despite his management casting doubt over his future at the team last month.

His manager Daniele Morelli told BBC Sport Kubica would remain at Renault as planned for 2010. He said Kubica had simply sought "clarification" of the team's position after a majority share was bought by investment company Genii Capital.

"We are going in the right direction," Morelli added. "There were no doubts, really, but it was very important we understood who were in the key roles in the team and of course also the budget - it is fundamental you have that for the updates to the car."

Morelli denied that he was trying to get more money as a result of the change in ownership.

"It is not in our interests to take advantage," Morelli said. "We want the money for the team. Robert wants a performing car. It's useless if the driver gets more money if you have a weak car and lose [performance] bonuses. It's better to score points and make podiums than to earn more money."

He added that Kubica is set to visit the factory this week to meet new owner Gerard Lopez and the man who has been widely tipped to become the team principal, Eric Boullier.
