Adrian Sutil and Nico Hulkenberg were hit with post-race 20-second penalties for skipping parts of the track during the Singapore Grand Prix.

Sutil was given the initial penalty for running wide at turn seven, dropping him to tenth, but his Force India team then pointed out that Hulkenberg had gained a similar advantage later in the race. After some deliberation, both drivers were slapped with 10-second penalties, meaning Sutil finished ninth and Hulkenberg tenth. Felipe Massa gained most by moving up to eighth.

Crucially, the second penalty means that Force India stays in front of Williams in the constructors' championship as the teams battle over sixth.

With the Williams judgement in place, Force India confirmed it was no longer appealing Sutil's penalty.
