Daniela Hantuchova stormed into the quarter-finals of the Monterrey Open in Mexico on Thursday, beating Kaia Kanepi in straight sets.

The No.2 seed dropped just four games as she eased past the Estonian in a little over an hour. She will meet American Vania King for a place in the semi-finals.

Fourth seed Dominika Cibulkova survived an early wobble to beat Italy's Sara Errani 3-6 6-4 6-1. Although last year's French Open semi-finalist served six double faults and was broken by Errani on five occasions, the Slovakian broke her opponent eight times as she recovered from losing the opening set.

Cibulkova will now meet fifth seed Agnes Szavay in the quarter-finals after the Hungarian moved past Germany's Anna-Lena Groenveld 6-1 7-6 6-1.

Latvia's Anastasija Sevastova continued her magnificent form, thrashing Iveta Benesova in straight sets. After knocking out top seed Jelena Jankovic in round one, Sevastova needed just 47 minutes to see off Benesova. Breaking five times throughout the contest, the Latvian emerged a 6-1 6-2 winner to set up a meeting with Alize Cornet in the next round.
