Clijsters thumps Williams to seal Miami win

Kim Clijsters overwhelmed a below-par Venus Williams to claim the Sony Ericsson Open title.
Williams received treatment on a leg injury on a couple of occasions and looked restricted in her movement as Clijsters claimed a 6-2 6-1 victory.
The first two games went with serve but Clijsters set up a break point in the third game with a stunning lob and converted when Williams sent a forehand over the baseline.
Williams' inconsistency on her serve reared its head in game five as two double faults handed Clijsters a second break of serve.
Clijsters was solid behind her own serve and a crunching forehand down the line secured the first set inside 30 minutes.
The momentum continued in the second set and brilliant play from Clijsters as she worked her opponent around the court saw her secure a break with a fabulous backhand.
Williams was roared on by her supporters, but she had no answers as Clijsters wrapped up her second title in Miami with ease, taking the final game against the serve to love to win inside an hour.
"It feels really good and it is so good to be back here, back to a tournament where I have played before," Clijsters said. "It is nice to come to a great stadium and to a tournament that is organised so well.
"Venus is a great competitor, a great athlete and one of the best women's tennis has ever had, so I knew I had to come out and play really well. I was happy with the way I was able to keep playing to my level throughout the match."
Clijsters took time to thank her support team, as she said: "It took a lot of hard work to get back into shape and I have to thank my coach, fitness coach, my husband and my whole family. And my nanny, without her it would not be possible."
