Richard Gasquet has been forced to retire from the AEGON Championships with a back injury.
The former world No. 7 was making his first appearance at Queen's Club for two years, and had made a solid start, beating Rajeev Ram in the second round.
Gasquet's third round opponent, Rainer Schuettler, who knocked out sixth seed Gael Monfils on Tuesday, will now receive a walkover into the last eight, where he will meet either four-time champion Andy Roddick or Israel's Dudi Sela.
