Pavlyuchenkova ousted in Slovenia

Third seed Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova was sent crashing out of the Slovenia Open by world No. 84 Johanna Larsson.
Pavlyuchenkova, the highest-ranked teenager on the WTA Tour at No. 31, was beaten in straight sets by Larsson, who reached her first WTA Tour semi-final with a 6-3 6-2 victory.
The Swede, who broke into the world's top 100 for the first time last month, took advantage of the Russian's poor second serve and made the most of her chances, converting all four of her break point opportunities.
Sixth seed Vera Dushevina was also sent tumbling out of the draw by fellow Russian Anna Chakvetadze, who came from a set down to book her place in the last-four with a 2-6 6-3 7-5 victory.
Meanwhile at the Nurnberger Gastein Ladies event in Austria, second seed Timea Bacsinszky eased past Sandra Zahlavova 6-0 6-4. The Swiss will meet home favourite Yvonne Meusberger for a place in the final after the Austrian stunned eighth seed Anastasija Sevastova 7-5 6-4.
Julia Goerges will meet Alize Cornet in the last four in Bad Gastein after the pair both survived tricky three setters against Anastasia Pivovarova and Patricia Mayr respectively.
