Federer fit and firing as Soderling leaps to four

Roger Federer and Robin Soderling will be the players to beat at the ATP World Tour Finals in London next week after the Swede leapfrogged Andy Murray in the world rankings.
Soderling beat Gael Monfils in straight sets to claim his first Masters title to achieve a career-high ranking of fourth, while world No. 2 Federer has fired a warning to his rivals, claiming to be in top shape ahead of the final event of the year.
World No. 1 Rafael Nadal leads a field of eight at London's O2 Arena, but the world No. 1 withdrew from the Paris Masters with a shoulder injury. By contrast Federer feels in top physical form and is confident of his chances in London.
"I think I have good chances maybe in London for winning," Federer said. "I feel good physically. In a way it is a relief that I was able to finish the tournament in good physical health. I'm fresh mentally, too. This is the most important thing.
Victories are important, but when you're not fit and when you're injured, it's bad.So I think I'm going to recover quite fast after that loss. I'm going back to Switzerland quickly and I'm going to prepare for London, because London is the great final of the year."
Gael Monfils' final appearance in Paris saw him climb to No. 12, while Nikolay Davydenko's early exit saw him plummet 11 places to 22nd.
