Andy Murray is hoping to avoid world No. 1 Rafael Nadal until the final in London next week.

Murray lines up in the ATP World Tour Finals at the O2 Arena on Sunday, where the top eight in the world will bid for glory.

The British No. 1 will have to face world No. 2 Roger Federer in the round-robin stages, as well as Robin Soderling and David Ferrer, and will hope to improve on last year's performance in London - where, despite winning two of his three matches, he failed to reach the semi-finals.

"It is one of the biggest tournaments after the grand slams," Murray said in a live webchat with the Telegraph. "Playing in front of the home crowd is great. Roger Federer and Rafa Nadal will be there and I am guaranteed to play one of them."

Murray lost to Federer at the O2 last year, but he insists he would rather face the 16-time grand slam champion in the group stages rather than Nadal, who he lost to at the semi-final stage at Wimbledon in July.

"The toughest one is probably Nadal," he said. "When he is on his game, he is the hardest. I hope I play him in the final."

With the top two players qualifying from each group, Murray could meet Nadal in the semi-finals, should both players progress.
