Gasquet ousts Moya in Acapulco

Richard Gasquet ended Carlos Moya's hopes of securing a third win in the Abierto Mexicano Telcel in Acapulco by coming from a set down to win 4-6 6-3 6-2.

"I am obviously disappointed," Moya said. "I had the match on my racquet, I only needed to close it. I am very happy however with my game level for the first set and a half. Gasquet was able to take advantage of the few opportunities he had to turn the match around."

Thomaz Bellucci crushed Oscar Hernandez 6-3 6-2, while Eduardo Schwank beat Santiago Gonzalez in two tie-break sets 7-6(4) 7-6(4).

At the Delray Beach International, there was a major shock as Teimumraz Gabashvili toppled No. 1 seed Tommy Haas 7-6 7-5. Haas had his chances, as he broke on three occasions, but squandered a further 12 break points as the Russian advanced to the second round.

Evgeny Korolev was a three-set winner over Nicolas Lapenti, while Wayne Odesnik eased past Rajeev Ram 6-3 6-2.
