Andy Murray shook off an ankle injury to book his place in the fourth round of the French Open with a straight-sets victory over Germany's Michael Berrer.

Despite struggling with his mobility after suffering the injury in the second set, the world No. 4 dominated the match to clinch a 6-2 6-3 6-2 victory.

Murray is yet to drop a set in Paris and got off to a blistering start as he stormed to a 3-0 lead, breaking Berrer on his first service game, before sealing the opening set with a second break.

Berrer has never reached the fourth round at any grand slam, and Murray was in no mood to allow that statistic to change as he remained in complete control, putting the Berrer serve under constant pressure.

On the verge of sealing a second break, Murray was cruising. However, after moving into the net to reach a drop shot, the world No. 4 collapsed in agony after rolling his right ankle.

After a delay to receive treatment, Murray returned to the court with his ankle heavily strapped to clinch the break. The Scot was clearly struggling with his movement as he was broken immediately, but broke once more to seal the second set.

Despite his restricted movement and his reluctance to chase down balls at the net, Murray was able to dominate rallies from the back of the court, and an early break gave him the breathing room he needed as a combination of well-placed winners and enforced Berrer errors sealed the victory.

Murray will now meet No. 15 seed Viktor Troicki in the fourth round after the Serb ground out a hard-fought 6-4 3-6 6-3 6-4 victory over Alexandr Dolgopolov.
