Kvyat earns F1 superlicense

2014 Toro Rosso driver Daniil Kvyat has earned his F1 superlicense and will take part in Friday morning practice sessions at the US and Brazilian Grands Prix.
The recently-crowned GP3 champion had to complete over 300km in an F1 car to qualify for the superlicense and on Friday clocked up 402km in a 2011 Toro Rosso. The 19 year old has already been named as Daniel Ricciardo's replacement at Toro Rosso next year and will now take to the track in the first practice sessions at the next two races to add to his experience.
Kvyat drove 102 laps of the Misano race circuit in Italy as part of a filming day for Toro Rosso, thus completing the necessary mileage within the FIA's strict testing limitations. He will take to the track in Jean-Eric Vergne's car this Friday at the US Grand Prix and drive Ricciardo's car in Brazil next week.
