Jaime Alguersuari has revealed he signed a contract to race at Toro Rosso in 2010 two months ago. Alguersuari said the deal was, "100% guaranteed" during a question and answer session with fans on Spanish news website Marca.

The team confirmed it would be keeping his 2009 team-mate Sebastien Buemi in early November, but there has been no official announcement on Alguersuari's future. However, the news comes as little surprise as team boss Franz Tost, when pressed on the question at the end of the season, hinted he would not be changing his driver line-up for next year.

Alguersuari made his F1 debut at Hungary this year, replacing the sacked Sebastien Bourdais at Toro Rosso. He retired from five of the eight races he competed in, including a massive accident at Suzuka.
