Ricciardo primed for 2012 seat

Toro Rosso team manager Franz Tost has said that Daniel Ricciardo is being readied for a race seat with the team next season.
Ricciardo is a Red Bull protege and has been driving for Toro Rosso in every Friday morning practice session so far, increasing the pressure on current pairing Sebastian Buemi and Jaime Alguersuari. Tost admitted that the team were building up Ricciardo's experience ahead of a drive in 2012, but that the plan was not for him to oust either of the current drivers this season.
"He should learn the team, all the race tracks, to work together with the engineers, get a little bit of knowledge about the press work, about the marketing and this should be the preparation for him to race for Toro Rosso in 2012," Tost said.
When asked if he could find himself in the car sooner than that, Tost replied "No, currently not."
With Mark Webber's future at Red Bull uncertain it has been rumoured that either Buemi or Alguersuari could move up to the current constructor's champions, but team principal Christian Horner played down the possibility for the time being.
"Of course we keep an eye on how the Toro Rosso drivers are developing but it's way too premature to be speculating on whether or not they will sit in a Red Bull racing car," Horner said. "We're happy with our current lineup and that's what we're focused on."
