The last fight of Mirko Cro Cop's UFC contract, and potentially career, will take place against Roy Nelson at UFC 137 in October.

Cro Cop has lost his last two fights inside the Octagon, both by knockout to Frank Mir and Brendan Schaub. President Dana White has already stated his belief that the Croatian should retire, but Cro Cop has an excellent relationship with the UFC and will be given the chance to see out his contract.

The legendary striker announced the fight, which is not yet official, on Croatian television, and has since been backed up by multiple sources.

Nelson himself is coming off back-to-back defeats, to Mir and Junior Dos Santos, and defeat for either man will almost certainly spell the end of their time in the UFC.

The most pressing factor yet to be clarified is what would happen if Cro Cop won. The veteran would be unlikely to hang up his mitts with the taste of victory fresh in his mind, but White may not be so willing to prolong the 36-year-old's career.

UFC 137 is headlined by Georges St-Pierre v Nick Diaz, and is also expected to feature a welterweight clash between Carlos Condit and BJ Penn.
