Dan Hardy is ready to take a gamble on his UFC future this weekend by trading blows with one of the most willing fighters in the game.

Hardy knows how important a win will be for his career at UFC Live. Once the No. 1 contender in the welterweight division, his stock has plummeted due to three straight losses.

The one that hurts most for the Outlaw is his second loss to Carlos Condit, whom Hardy remains convinced he would beat nine times out of 10. On that night, Hardy discarded his defence in pursuit of a knockout, ending badly when Condit beat him to the punch.

Now Hardy is promising he will once again throw caution to the wind in order to become the first man to knock out Lytle.

"I'm always fine with trading punches until someone falls over…I like my odds in that gamble," Hardy was quoted as saying by Cage Potato.

"My goal is to be the first person to knock Chris out. I'm not sure when it will come or how it will come, but I have a lot of options, a lot of techniques that would get him out of there before the final bell.

"All I know is that the fight will be a war while it lasts, and my hand will be raised at the end."
