Anderson Silva linked to Dan Henderson rematch

Anderson Silva could be heading for a shock rematch with Dan Henderson, if he beats Yushin Okami at UFC 134 this weekend.

Silva is hoping to chalk up his 14th straight UFC victory in Rio, where he defends the middleweight title against Okami, the last man to defeat him. Should the Spider win, he is expected to head towards a clash with the winner of Chael Sonnen and Brian Stann - who fight at UFC 136.

However, UFC co-owner Lorenzo Fertitta has shed light on the possibility of a different opponent, bringing the name of Strikeforce light-heavyweight champion Dan Henderson into the mix.

Henderson is currently out of contract and keen for big-money bouts, although he had stated his belief that he would not drop back down to middleweight. However, the chance to avenge a submission loss to Silva may prove too tempting, as would the money that would accompany such a fight.

The UFC's debut on FOX is scheduled for November 12, and currently does not have a main event. A rematch between two of the sport's greatest names, according to Fertitta, is not out of the question.

"We don't have a main event set yet, we'll find out probably after this Saturday, these fights in Rio, then we'll set a main event," Fertitta told Tatame.

"But it'll be something big. It'll be a big fight. I would love to do [Silva v Henderson]. Anderson just needs a win."
