UFC president Dana White has laughed off rumours that Brock Lesnar could be set to retire from the sport.

Lesnar, who has fought just twice since being diagnosed with diverticulitis in late 2009, had surgery in May, and recently claimed he felt "like a new man".

Although White admitted the former WWE star is unlikely to return to action before the end of the year, he was adamant Lesnar had a future in the UFC, with potential fights against Frank Mir and Alistair Overeem on the horizon.

"That's ridiculous. It's so far from the truth it's not even funny," White said when asked about Lesnar's reported retirement. "He's 100 per cent. His surgery went great, he's 100 per cent, he's getting back into training in the next couple of weeks."
