Condit reveals what Diaz shouted at him at UFC 143

Carlos Condit has shed light on what Nick Diaz said to him during Saturday's main event at UFC 143, revealing the Stockton fighter was far from impressed with an attempted spinning backfist.
Condit emerged triumphant from the welterweight bout, impressing many while frustrating others in a unanimous decision verdict. He is now at the front of the queue to fight champion Georges St-Pierre when the Canadian returns.
Saturday's bout featured trademark antics from Diaz who, after enjoying a spell of pressure in the second round, began to taunt his rival. Dropping his hands, he shouted at Condit, and Condit remembers exactly why.
"I threw a spinning backfist or something, and he said, 'We're throwing spinning s*** now?'" Condit recalled with a laugh. "I kind of had to smile at that one and just went, 'Yep. Yes, I am.'"
Diaz was distinctly unhappy to be handed the loss in a fight that he chased from minute one to minute 25. Always applying the pressure Diaz clearly thought he was the aggressor, but that pays little respect to the tactical gameplan of Condit.
"I wasn't letting him back me straight up into the cage. He had a few moments there where he was able to do his thing, but for the most part I was staying out of the way of his punches, staying out of the way of his combinations and chopping his legs and affecting his mobility," Condit told MMA Junkie.
"From the very start, it was working. You don't see the effects of that until later on in the fight, but he stopped coming forward on me. I was landing what I needed to do to execute the gameplan."
Certainly there was no doubt over the result in president Dana White's eyes, who commented: "Carlos Condit won. He went in there and he fought a great fight. He stuck to his gameplan and didn't fall in Nick Diaz's [style of fight].
"Nick Diaz is the master of getting you to fight his type of fight. Fighters have egos, and millions of people are watching. When you start getting open-hand slapped by the other guy and he's calling you names - 'Alright, you want to do this?' - they step in, and they do it.
"Carlos Condit kept his cool, fought a perfect fight. He started early, chopping those legs, and that did make a big difference toward the end of the fight."
