Nick Diaz vowed to quit the sport of MMA following Saturday's UFC 143 loss to Carlos Condit, insisting he no longer wants to fight if judges are going to rob him of decisions.

Diaz missed out on the chance to win the UFC interim welterweight title in Las Vegas, dropping a controversial unanimous decision to Condit. The Stockton fighter undoubtedly pressed forward throughout the contest, but he paid the price for his lack of defence as Condit booked the shot at Georges St-Pierre.

The former Strikeforce champion is notorious for threatening to leave the sport, promising on multiple occasions in the past to switch to the boxing, where he feels he can make more money, and again on Saturday he stated his intention to quit.

"I'm not going to accept the fact that this was a loss. I've lost fights like this before, and I'm not going to accept those either," Diaz said. "Carlos is a great guy. I'm happy for him and his family, but I think I'm done with this MMA.

"It's been great out here. I've had a good career. You guys pay me way too much, but I don't think I'm going to get enough to keep going in this. It's been a good time."

The pattern of the fight saw Diaz always on the front foot, always pushing the pace, while Condit relied on technique and counter-striking to sway the judges. In the end, the more measured approach was rewarded, and Diaz was not impressed.

"I don't need this s***. I pushed this guy backwards the whole time. He ran from me this whole fight," Diaz moaned. "I landed the harder shots. He kicked me in my leg with little baby leg kicks the whole fight. If that's the way [the judges] understand that you win in here, I don't want to play this game no more.

"It ain't right. I pushed him back the whole fight. I walked him down. I got the takedown. I'm the guy who won on top. If I thought I wasn't ahead, I bet you anything I would have finished that armlock."

Interviewer Joe Rogan reacted by telling Diaz he hoped he would reconsider, but Diaz replied: "I'm good. I'll help out my team and my brother and everybody else, but I'm out of this s***."
