Natural Born Killer or Runner?

Carlos Condit and Nick Diaz are set to do battle once again after UFC president Dana White revealed late on Tuesday night that Condit had accepted a rematch.

"The rumour is true," White said via Twitter. "Carlos did accept the fight today."

Condit and Diaz were involved in a controversial main event at UFC 143, with the Natural Born Killer awarded a unanimous decision. The judges' verdict left many viewers upset that Condit's tactics had overcome Diaz's aggression, accusing the former of 'running' from his opponent.

The counter argument is that Condit employed the perfect gameplan to negate Diaz's pressing style, a view supported by post-fight statistics. Either way, the fight divided its audience.

Condit's camp said in interviews conducted immediately after the bout that they would not consider a rematch, with Condit keen to wait for champion Georges St-Pierre to return from injury. However, the Canadian's comeback is not expected until November.

A satisfactory outcome for the UFC is to use the interim period to settle matters between Diaz and Condit, and Diaz will postpone his retirement plans for the rematch, with White revealing: "Nick wanted the rematch the same night."
