Paul Daley is sounding out boxing promoter Frank Maloney about a potential future in the noble art following his axing from the UFC.

Daley was thrown out of MMA's premier organisation by Dana White after he landed an illegal left hook on Josh Koscheck way after the final bell. A six-to-twelve month suspension from the sport may now be in the offing as the Quebec Athletic Commission investigates the incident.

Daley told ESPN.co.uk on Monday that he has been invited to train at a 'world champion' boxing stable, and now he has confirmed that his long-term future may rest in boxing. The Nottingham fighter will firstly fight in a pay-per-view MMA show on July 3 in Australia, but he confesses he is exploring all avenues.

"Boxing is still an option," said Daley. "One of my training partners is Rendall Munroe and his trainer is currently speaking to Frank Maloney on my behalf. I want to do both, fight MMA and get my boxing up to speed, but I want to do them concurrently.

"I got my walking papers this morning and I am glad that things are now official. It's a shame things went the way they did, but on the brighter side of things it opens up a lot more doors for me.

"I am fighting on a pay-per-view show in Australia on July 3 with a lot of other big names, and I have other offers in the pipeline."
