Rampage v Rashad is a 'snoozefest' - White

Dana White pulled no punches when explaining why he did not book Rampage Jackson v Rashad Evans for UFC 130, insisting the pair's first fight was a snoozefest.

The opportunity was there for the two former light-heavyweight champions to lock horns for a second time, after Jackson's initial opponent Thiago Silva was pulled from the card. However, the UFC overlooked Evans in favour of Matt Hamill who, on paper, carries less reputation and potential for bad blood with Jackson.

White's reason centres completely on Rampage's first bout against Evans at UFC 114, which barely witnessed a punch thrown until late in the third round, when Jackson was too fatigued to capitalise. Evans took that bout via a decision, but it went down as one of the most disappointing fights of 2010.

"Talking's fun before the fight, but if you do all this talking and then you go in there and don't fight, who wants to see that [crap] again?" White asked on USA Today.

"Rampage-Rashad, the snoozefest? I don't want to see that fight again.

"Matt Hamill and Rampage might not talk a bunch of [crap] about each other before the fight, but when have you not seen Matt Hamill fight? Matt Hamill's going to go in there and try to beat him."
