Paul Daley has officially signed the contract that guarantees he will trade blows with Nick Diaz on April 9.

ESPN revealed on March 14 that Strikeforce's new owner, Zuffa, expected the planned welterweight bout to go ahead, and now MMA Fighting has confirmed the contracts have been penned.

Diaz's manager, Cesar Gracie, was the man to announce that Daley's signature arrived on Tuesday, ending speculation that he would pull out of the fight.

Daley has history with UFC president Dana White, who cut the Briton from the organisation after a post-fight punch aimed at Josh Koscheck.

The Rough House man initially questioned whether he would continue to fight for Strikeforce after the buyout, which now sees White benefit from any money made, but Daley has stuck to the agreement and will now prepare for one of the most anticipated fights of the year.
