- Strikeforce: Diaz v Daley
Daley adamant ref McCarthy made the wrong call

Paul Daley has reiterated his belief that referee John McCarthy produced a premature stoppage to his Strikeforce welterweight title bout with Nick Diaz.
Daley was stopped with three seconds left in round one, under severe pressure from Diaz after seemingly being dropped by a straight right hand. The Briton insists he merely slipped, contrary to replays that appear to show his legs completely buckling.
"I think it was a slip… I think the slip was the effect of one of the earlier punches," he told FightHub.tv. "I still hadn't fully recovered and I was trying to find my footing and I slipped, which is why it looked so bad to John McCarthy."
With three seconds remaining, Daley appeared to fend Diaz off with his feet, but he was clearly rocked as he returned to his stool after the fight had been stopped. Nonetheless, having dropped Diaz earlier in the fight, Daley is adamant he should have been allowed the recovery time in between rounds one and two.
"It was a championship fight, three seconds left - I think I deserved the three seconds in such a huge fight… I think he got it wrong this time."
