The greatest one-rounder ever?

Paul Daley has admitted his Strikeforce welterweight title defeat to Nick Diaz will "haunt" him for months, and he revealed he fought the majority of the bout with his senses scrambled.

Daley was stopped with three seconds remaining on Saturday night, a decision he still believes came prematurely from referee John McCarthy. The Brit had dropped Diaz on two occasions, but it was Diaz who ended up with his arm raised after a late onslaught.

Having taken time to absorb the incredible events of the weekend, Daley has revealed he took an early blow from Diaz from which he never truly recovered.

"Just watched over the Diaz fight again, and can see I am rocked early on by a right hook to the temple," he wrote on Facebook. "I'm spending the rest of the fight, fighting on guts and instinct until the 2nd knock down, Diaz face plant.

"Like I said, I lost composure and was swinging for the fences, but now I see why. 'Only if's' will haunt me for a while. But what's done is done."
