The greatest five-rounder ever?

Paul Daley has encouraged talk of a Strikeforce rematch with Nick Diaz, insisting he would "love" to down tools with the welterweight champion for a second time.

A rematch between the two sluggers may not be far-fetched, given the fact both have made their intentions clear to take time out in the near future for vacation.

Strikeforce and Zuffa bosses will know a sequel to Saturday's brawl would draw huge viewing figures, having peaked at 806,000 viewers in their first battle. The one-round encounter saw Diaz dropped twice before he eventually recovered to stop Daley with three seconds remaining in the opening round.

Over 80 "power punches" landed in the roller-coaster battle, and Daley is convinced the stoppage was premature, so the Briton would love to do it all over again.

"Hear people saying I should ask for a rematch!?" he wrote on Facebook. "I would love a rematch. Given more preparation time, I feel a rematch would be even more exciting.

"Diaz is a great champion, and one of the realest MMA fighters out there, would love to do it again. But for now, it's down time."
