Anderson Silva has confessed he may be entering the final chapters of his career.
Silva appeared amongst the seven UFC champions at the UFC 129 weigh-in, where he fielded questions on potential encounters with Georges St-Pierre and Jon Jones.
The Spider remained non-committal in both cases, preferring to reiterate his belief that BJ Penn and St-Pierre are the two best pound-for-pounders in the world.
However, when Silva was asked if we may be entering into the final two fights of his career, starting with Yushin Okami at UFC Rio, the Brazilian replied: "Maybe."
Such a situation would surely increase pressure on the UFC to put together the much-anticipated Silva v St-Pierre superfight in the near future.
Silva also addressed Vitor Belfort's claims that he was fortunate to win their battle at UFC 126. Belfort said only one in a thousand of the front kicks, landed by Silva as the knockout blow, would have landed, and his comments angered the middleweight champion.
"Vitor doesn't respect me," he said. "Vitor respects no-one."
