Virgin deny D'Ambrosio exit talk
Virgin have dismissed reports that Jerome D'Ambrosio is set to leave the team, and insist that the Belgian rookie will be part of their 2012 driver line-up alongside Timo Glock.
D'Ambrosio's manager Eric Boullier, who doubles as Renault team boss, said at Silverstone that he would be discussing his client's 2012 options with Virgin and another team at the upcoming German Grand Prix.
However, Virgin team president Graeme Lowdon was quick to say that the Belgian - who has finished all but one of his first nine grands prix - was going nowhere else next season.
"I spoke to Jerome's manager at Silverstone and that is simply not the case," Lowdon told The Star. "We are happy with the guys we have got and it would be nice to continue with the same line up next year.
"We are extremely happy with the drivers we have got and we have no plans to change it," he added." It is not unusual to chop and change your drive line up quite a bit but we have got two guys who are really good."
Lowdon was also hopeful that team leader Timo Glock would stay, particularly with the team having recently announced a technical partnership with McLaren for 2012.
"Timo is doing a great job; he's very experienced and is a real asset to the team," Lowdon continued. "We have a great team spirit here and he is valuable part of that.
"I know Timo very well and we talk a lot about the future. He knows a lot about our plans and we know what his personal goals are too. We have an extremely open relationship so if anyone was talking with him then we would be the first to know."
