Nico Hulkenberg's manager Willi Weber is looking to place the German at Ferrari once his client secures some experience at Williams.

Hulkenberg will make his debut with Williams this year after winning the 2009 GP2 Series, and Weber, who also manages Michael Schumacher, wants to see another of his protégés at the sport's most famous team. "Within three years, Ferrari will have Nico," Weber predicted.

Hulkenberg revealed last month that Weber had been in talks with Ferrari during the 2009 season, touting him as a possible replacement for the injured Felipe Massa. In the end Ferrari opted for Luca Badoer and Giancarlo Fisichella, a decision that Hulkenberg believes was for the best.

"In the end I was able to focus on GP2 and win the title and now I enter F1 with the appropriate preparation," he said. "It's probably good that it did not work out."

Hulkenberg is set to test the new Williams at Valencia next week and is believed to be pencilled in to drive on day three, after his team-mate Rubens Barrichello gives the car its initial running on Monday and Tuesday.
