Sebastian Vettel says he is concentrating only on winning Sunday's Abu Dhabi Grand Prix rather than focusing on the bigger picture of the title battle.

Vettel took his tenth pole position of the season and is ideally placed to win the race but Fernando Alonso holds a 15 point lead over him and is starting from third.

"I will feel very happy, but depends who else wins [the title]," the Vettel. "It is not dependent on me, all I can do is maximise my performance and then others have to deliver. Pressure-wise, we are not leading the championship so maybe there is more pressure on Fernando and Mark.

"Tomorrow we will do our maximum and then we will see what happens. It looks tight here, tighter than other places with Ferrari strong and McLaren very strong. After the race there are screens around the track and there is time to see where others have finished, and see if there is something to celebrate or not."

Vettel has been a class apart in qualifying this season and but for some impetuous moves and unfortunate technical failures could well have had the title in the bag by now. It is a fact not lost on the German.

"Ten pole positions in one season is not too bad, so whatever comes now, I think is a bonus anyway. My season has been up and down, I should be in a good position and I am not.

"I'm surprised the circuit ramped up but we went out last and I did it. Ten poles is a great achievement, and shows how good our car is."
