Webber 'positive' despite no pole

Mark Webber is positive that Red Bull will challenge for victory in tomorrow's Abu Dhabi Grand Prix but admits the team needs to "clean up" a few reliability issues.

In the Indian Grand Prix, a KERS problem cost Webber second place to Fernando Alonso and then he suffered another issue with KERS in FP2. Team-mate Sebastian Vettel also hit trouble during FP3 and qualifying, and Webber admitted that with an improving McLaren to compete with Red Bull needs to remove those niggles.

"First of all credit to Lewis and McLaren; they've got a quick car here this weekend," Webber said. "They've bumped us off the front row; it's the first time in a while. Where they had momentum six to eight weeks ago and then we had a good run so now they've done a good job here today so credit where it's due.

"We did the best we could. I think it was a pretty smooth qualifying session for both Seb and I and we did what we could. We're still a long way up the grid, so I think it went well but we've got a little bit of friendly fire going on which we need to tidy up. The quality of the team obviously is exceptional; we know what we need to improve on to help both championships along."

Webber added that he was aware there would be a strong challenge from McLaren in the race but hinted his aim was to secure the constructors' championship for Red Bull.

"Obviously Seb's still involved in the drivers' and the constructors' is still important for us so we'll focus on tomorrow's race and the car is generally always working pretty well on Sundays. But Lewis and JB did some strong long runs as well so they look strong here this weekend, but overall we're positive and looking for a good result tomorrow."
