Mo Farah has been tipped for Olympic glory by UK Athletics head coach Charles van Commenee, following the Brit's record-breaking efforts of recent days.

Farah propelled himself into the world-class bracket with his 5,000-10,000m double at last year's European Championship and he took his performances forward with a British-record time of 26 min 46.57 sec in winning at the Diamong League meeting in Oregon last week.

Farah put a string of world-class athletes to the sword in Oregon and Van Commenee is convinced the 28-year-old is on course to shine at this summer's World Championship and London 2012.

"That was a truly world-class performance from Mo, beating a very strong field," Van Commenee said. "I am delighted for him.

"Not only did he destroy both the British and European records, he stood out in a global quality race and beat some of the world's top athletes. That is a positive indication as we move towards the World Championships and London 2012."
