Britain's Mo Farah has expressed his delight over his scintillating form but admits he must keep his "feet on the ground" in order to deliver his best at the forthcoming World Championships.

Farah has prospered since relocating to Portland, Oregon with his wife and daughter, where he has been training under the guidance of three-time New York marathon winner Alberto Salazar.

The 28-year-old has dominated on the track in recent times, winning his last nine races. All eyes will be on Farah in Daegu, with the Brit sitting at the top of the world rankings over 5000m and 10,000m, and he acknowledges the need to stay grounded and focus on arriving at this month's World Championships in peak shape.

"Things have been going really well and I'm really enjoying being based in Oregon," Farah said. "I just have to keep my feet on the ground. Where it matters is the World Championships. I want to go there and get on the start line as healthy as I can."

Farah, who left Somalia for England when he was eight, defends his unbeaten record at the Aviva London Grand Prix this weekend and admits he is excited to be back in the country's capital.

"It's nice to be back, I do miss London, the days of running round Richmond Park or Bushy Park," he said. "You don't realise until you come back how much you miss it. I am looking forward to competing on home soil."

Meanwhile, Farah has left the door ajar to a possible U-turn over his decision to solely run the 10,000m in Daegu. The double European champion had said at the weekend he would put "all my eggs in one basket and that is the 10k" but he clarified his position on Thursday, saying: "I meant to say it just depends on how I come out of the 10k. If I feel good I will come back and do the 5k."
