Adrian Sutil said his target was to score points for the team after finishing second fastest behind the Ferrari of Fernando Alonso during Friday's free practice session.

After last year's Belgian Grand Prix, where Giancarlo Fisichella qualified on pole position before finishing a close second to Kimi Raikkonen, the team came into this year's grand prix weekend with just reason for optimism. But Sutil, who also finished fifth fastest in a wet opening session, is mindful that there is still a long way to go.

"I was very comfortable and every run I went out I was one of the quickest, so a very positive start to the day. In the dry the car was just getting better as grip improved," said Sutil. "In the second session I did a run on the hard tyre and then had time for one single lap on the soft right at the end, but there was so much traffic out on the track that getting a time was always going to be hard. But at least we have an idea about the tyres and how the car will perform on the different compounds.

"I think the podium is a bit too far away. If it comes I will be super happy but I don't expect something like that because it's a hard fight. Any points finish is good. Of course you are aiming more than 10th place, probably fifth or sixth is my aim for the weekend. To do the same result as last year is going to be a very difficult one, there are a lot of very strong teams out there."

Sutil's Force India proved quick in all conditions on Friday, giving the German added confidence ahead of a weekend which he expects to be drier than the Friday.

"We know it's going to be difficult to replicate this form tomorrow when we expect conditions to be drier but overall I'm feeling good, the car is fast and I am in good shape."
