Amir Khan says he will not be lured into a brawl against Lamont Peterson, the challenger insisting he will instead hand out a "boxing lesson" when he attempts to win back his titles.

Peterson and Khan are set to do battle for a second time on May 19, five months after the American wrestled the WBA and IBF light-welterweight belts away from Khan via a split decision in Washington.

Khan's defeat - the second of his professional career - was shrouded in controversy after the Brit was docked two points for pushing and he complained about the involvement of mystery man Mustafa Ameen, who was seen handling the judges' scorecards at ringside.

Khan now has a chance to settle the score and win back his world titles when the pair clash at the Mandalay Bay Hotel, and the 25-year-old admits he wants to make his opponent pay for the heartache he has suffered.

"We respect each other from a certain point of view, but I don't like him because he has my titles - I am going in there to hurt him," Khan said in the Sun.

"In fact, I hate him as he has something I want - the belts that he took off me. I've never felt like that before. I want to hurt him and knock him out. But I don't hold a grudge because when you do you can make mistakes. This rematch is all about winning.

"I am not going in the ring at the Mandalay Bay to be crazy and wild. I want to show him by handing out a boxing lesson. This is definitely a make or break fight for me as there is so much to lose if I don't get back my titles.

"I honestly thought I won our first fight. This is unfinished business."
