Khan could be next for Brook-Hatton winner

Amir Khan has been challenged to face the winner of Saturday's welterweight contest between Matthew Hatton and Kell Brook.
Khan has long planned to move up to the 147lb weight class as he targets a blockbuster contest against Floyd Mayweather Jnr, and is widely expected to do so after his forthcoming light-welterweight rematch against Lamont Peterson.
A bout against either of the British boxers would seem a good introduction to the division for the Bolton fighter, and promoter Eddie Hearn believes it would prove a lucrative domestic encounter to boot.
"Khan's eyeing a move up to welterweight, so the winner of this clash is a natural fight," Hearn said. "We'll have 10,000 fans in the [MEN] Arena for Brook v Hatton, so what sort of numbers do you think a fight with Khan would do?"
Hearn also represents super-middleweight Carl Froch - whose return to the ring was confirmed on Thursday for May 26 at the Capital FM Arena in his hometown of Nottingham.
"We explored the opportunity of taking the event outside but with licensing issues and uncertainty over potential capacity, we decided to remain at the Capital FM Arena," said Hearn.
"We also explored venues in Manchester and London but again it lacked the fairytale story of Carl fighting in his hometown, which has always been the dream."
