Harrison drops quit hint

Audley Harrison and David Haye have traded insults during the build-up to the fight

Audley Harrison has suggested he may retire if he shocks the boxing world and wrestles the WBA heavyweight title from David Haye.

Harrison's chances of claiming the title have been written off by the majority; he is a 9/2 shot with Stan James
to defeat Haye at the MEN Arena on Saturday.

There is little love lost between the pair and the verbal sparring has been intense, but the talking is almost done and Harrison has his sights trained on adding a world title to his Olympic gold. And if he does pull off the unlikely he may well head off into retirement.

"It really will be mission complete when I win," Harrison said. "The Olympics was all about realising a dream. Once I did that I had to set new goals and the goal was to be a world champion.

"It wasn't to be the undisputed champion, it was to be a world champion. So once I've achieved that goal, it really will be mission complete.

"Then it will be time for reflection and I'll have to decide what I want to do. I'm not in boxing for the money or longevity. I'm in boxing to achieve my goals. There is a rematch clause, but once I win I'll sit down and decide what to do. Being unified champion is not a goal I've set for myself."
