'Scared' Harrison mocks champion Haye

Audley Harrison has mocked David Haye just 48 hours before their WBA world heavyweight title clash, claiming: "I'm really really scared."

Harrison completed an open workout in front of the media on Thursday, and he later admitted the time for practising and talking is over. Both Haye and Harrison are now in Manchester, and there is an air of frustration surrounding both camps as they await Saturday's collision at the MEN Arena.

Harrison has done the majority of the talking in the build-up to the weekend, and Haye recently suggested it was a sign of weakness in the former Olympic champion, commenting: "I have been punishing myself in the gym and know I can cope with the pressure and the pain, but I don't think Audley can. I don't think Audley can take that. I don't believe Audley can take what I can take and it's about proving it on the night."

Harrison's response was to fake fear on Thursday, claiming he is a nervous wreck ahead of the big fight.

"I'm really delusional," quipped the challenger. "I'm really really scared about my moment of destiny. David's really got to me and I know I'm gonna have to stand up and perform on Saturday... but I don't know if I can. The pressure is getting to me as you can see."

Inevitably Harrison discarded his 'scared' facade to tell Haye what he truly believes, which is that he will knock the champion out. Phrases such as 'yes I can' have dominated Harrison's camp, and he appears to believe it is his destiny to shock the boxing world this weekend.

"When I knock you out on Saturday, we'll see how much you've got under my skin," he warned Haye on Sky Sports News. "David thought he could get to me before the fight, but he hasn't got to me one iota. I know David Haye, I know him better than he knows himself. Come Saturday night, I intend to outfight David Haye.

"This fight will be the toughest of David Haye's life. Losing is not an option to me. I've got bigger punching power than him, Haye is just chasing more money. The universe will not deny me."
