Adrian Sutil called his eighth place in qualifying for the Brazilian Grand Prix a continuation of "a strong weekend".

Sutil showed good pace in FP3 to even top the timesheets at one stage after a soft tyre run, and beat both Mercedes in the final practice session. In qualifying he was unable repeat that performance, but was within 0.25s of both Nico Rosberg and Felipe Massa ahead of him. Sutil said that the balance of the car allowed him to deliver the maximum performance, with only the windy conditions causing any sort of issues.

"Another good qualifying session for me to carry on a strong weekend," Sutil said. "I had a good feeling all afternoon and I really enjoyed the session because the balance of the car felt great. The only real issue was the fact that it was quite windy, but I was able to adjust my driving and it didn't catch me out."

Sutil was also confident that he would be competitive in the race whatever the conditions.

"Eighth is a good place to start and I'm feeling confident for tomorrow - whether it's wet or dry. We just have to wait and see what the weather does, but I hope we can come away with a lot of points because I'm targeting ninth place in the drivers' championship. That would be a nice way to end the season."
