Perez hit with grid penalty for Massa shunt as both released from hospital
Both Felipe Massa and Sergio Perez have been discharged from hospital following their huge accident on the final lap of the Canadian Grand Prix, for which Perez was penalised five places on the grid at the next race in Austria.
Perez was deemed to have moved across on Massa under braking for the first corner, resulting in contact that pitched both cars out of control and into the barriers. Both drivers climbed out of their cars unaided but were taken to hospital after the race for precautionary checks.
FIA statement confirms that both Checo and Felipe have been discharged from the Hospital where they had been taken for precautionary checks.
