Confusion reigns post race but Verstappen has been handed a five-second penalty, dropping him to fifth. He initially goes into the pre-podium room before Vettel is seen running there. Luckily he doesn't cross paths with Verstappen before he gets there as that could have been a little bit tasty had they seen each other.

Hamilton celebrates the win but Rosberg looks pretty happy with that one. He's still in control of his own destiny and will take the title if he wins in Brazil next weekend.

Lap 71

That move has probably cost Ricciardo the chance of getting fourth. Vettel had just been complaining on the radio before that move that Verstappen had dropped him back a position.

I imagine Verstappen has a five-second penalty coming his way - he will be investigated after the race.

Meanwhile, out in front, Lewis Hamilton rounds the final corner and wins the Mexican Grand Prix to keep his championship fight alive. Rosberg takes second to keep himself in pole position.

"Charlie said... Charlie said," Ferrari starts to Vettel. "Yeah! Here's a message to Charlie! F--- off! F--- off!" he screams. He finishes fourth, but I imagine that will become fourth after the race.

Charlie Whiting, the FIA race director, the man Vettel is talking about there. He and Ricciardo are also under investigation.

Lap 70

Ricciardo is now right inside DRS range of Vettel. Vettel hands the the position back.

Ricciardo lunges down the inside of Vettel at Turn 4 but Vettel refuses to give up the position. What a dramatic finish to this race.

Verstappen did a great job backing Vettel into Ricciardo.

Ricciardo and Vettel made light contact coming into the corner there. That could have ended very differently.

Lap 69

Ricciardo is inching ever closer, Verstappen is yet to yield to Vettel. He has three laps to give the position back according to the rule book. This is all playing beautifully into the hands of Ricciardo.

Arrivabene looks angry on the Ferrari pit wall, gesticulating as Verstappen stays in front.

"Move! Move for f--- sake! He's a [censored], that's what he is!" Vettel shouts.

Lap 68

Verstappen locks up and runs deep into Turn 1 and goes across the corner, he keeps the position and defends through Turn 4. Vettel will be fuming about that one.

Red Bull being told he should give the position up, that was a bit of a slam-dunk. For those wondering how Hamilton's was different, he was not battling another car, and thems the rules.

"He has to let me go, he has to let me go!" Vettel tells Ferrari.

Lap 67

Ricciardo can now see Verstappen and Vettel in front of him. Vettel within DRS range of Verstappen.

Raikkonen passes Hulkenberg on the outside of Turn 4 and Hulkenberg gets spun around! Hard to tell if they made contact. Hulkenberg gets going again and he has a lot of time to Bottas behind him.
