Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins has confirmed the club are in talks to sign a number of players including Liverpool midfielder Jonjo Shelvey.

Swans manager Michael Laudrup has made it clear that he wants to strengthen his playing squad this summer in order to build on the club's top ten Premier League finish and Capital One Cup win.

England Under-21 midfielder Shelvey is among the players the club are working on bringing in, with Jenkins telling the South Wales Evening Post: "There is an interest there and we are talking to Liverpool."

Vitesse Arnhem's Wilfried Bony and Lyon's Bafetimbi Gomis are two other players linked with a move to the Liberty Stadium and Jenkins also confirmed that discussions are ongoing regarding possible moves.

"We are still talking on a number of fronts to try to get the right players on the right deals for Swansea City," he added.

"There have been continual conversations on Bafetimbi Gomis because he has been one of our main targets.

"The fact is that there are quite a lot of things which need to be sorted out at Lyon's end which are out of our control.

"We have kept the door open on that one. Similarly with Wilfried Bony, we are waiting for information.

"We are waiting for news back from his club - we are still talking to them."

Espanyol wideman Wakaso Mubarak is also reportedly interesting Swansea, although Jenkins denied any concrete interest from the club.

"He is a young player we went to watch last year, but it hasn't gone any further than that," he said.
