McClaren opens door to City bid for Dzeko

Wolfsburg coach Steve McClaren accepts striker Edin Dzeko may leave the club.
Manchester City are known to be keen on signing Dzeko, 24, and the player is understood to have written a letter to City expressing his desire to move to Eastlands in January.
There have been suggestions that his price tag prevented a move to City during the summer, and the Daily Mail claimed on Thursday that Wolfsburg are asking £38 million for his signature.
Dzeko said earlier this week that his future is in the club's hands and that, while he wants to play in the Champions League, he believes he is likely to stay, but McClaren has now opened the door to a potential sale.
"We hope that Edin stays because he is a world-class striker, but we are in the business of football and nothing is 100% certain," he said. "We will have to see what happens."
McClaren's own future is in significant doubt after the club's DFB Pokal defeat to Energie Cottbus on Wednesday. Wolfsburg, the 2009 Bundesliga winners, currently sit 13th in the table.
