No Bale sale while we still want CL - Redknapp

Harry Redknapp believes the day Tottenham agree to sell Gareth Bale will be the day the club give up any aspirations they have of being a regular top four side.

Bale, on Friday nominated for both PFA player and young player of the year, has been in blistering form for the north London club for much of the season - as a result attracting the reported interest of clubs including Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid.

But Redknapp has once again insisted that he will never consider allowing the potentially lucrative sale of the Welshman.

"If Tottenham start selling players like Gareth Bale then you have to accept that you're never going to be a top club," Redknapp said. "I'm sure the chairman, Daniel [Levy], wants to be a top four club.

"Man United, Chelsea and Arsenal do it every year, if we want to do it we have to keep improving, not selling players.

"Otherwise you'll do it one year and you might never do it again."

Spurs currently sit fifth in the Premier League table, five points behind fourth-placed Chelsea.
