Formula One management has issued a statement saying Paul Allen, the cameraman hit by Mark Webber's loose wheel at the German Grand Prix, is expected to make a full recovery.
Allen was struck on the back by the wheel after it was not secured properly at Webber's first pit stop. He was treated at the circuit medical centre before being helicoptered to Koblenz hospital where he was kept under observation overnight.
On Monday the official Formula One website issued a short statement saying he is expected to make a full recovery but did not give any further details.
"Formula One Management Limited confirms that one of its personnel was injured while working in the pit lane during the Formula One German Grand Prix and is currently receiving medical care," read the statement. "The person concerned is expected to make a full recovery. To safeguard the individual's privacy, no further comment will be made."
