- German Grand Prix - qualifying
Webber rues Q3 mistake
Mark Webber heaped the blame firmly on his own shoulders after a mistake on his final lap cost him a higher grid position than fourth for the German Grand Prix.
Webber, who is aiming for back-to-back victories after his win in Silverstone, finished nearly half a second behind pole-sitting Red Bull team-mate Sebastian Vettel to line up behind the Ferraris of Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa.
"I got a little bit wide on the entry to Turn 1 - stuck the front of the car out and I couldn't get back into the line," said Webber. "My fault, and it wasn't good enough. Not the best qualifying so I look to the race tomorrow."
Webber added that he expected the battle for pole to be a close one after Vettel edged out Alonso by just 0.002 seconds.
"I knew it was going to be tight with the short lap. I let the boys down a bit, but Seb did a good lap for pole. Fourth is still not too bad - let's see what we can do from there in tomorrow's race."
