Rookie Scott Stallings claimed his first PGA Tour victory after a birdie at the first play-off hole in the Greenbrier Classic.

The 26-year-old birdied the par-three 18th to get himself into a play-off alongside Bob Estes and Bill Haas, before repeating the trick from a near-identical five-foot putt to clinch victory.

All three men had finished at ten-under par for the tournament, with Estes carding a six-under round of 64 to jump to the top of the leaderboard and Haas carding a 67.

Stallings could only manage a 69, but after making a two at the last to get into the play-off (having bogeyed the 17th following a wayward tee-shot) the momentum appeared to be with him - and that proved to be the case as both his rivals missed their birdie attempts before Stallings drained the decider.

Afterwards, Stallings expressed his delight, saying: "It's a dream come true. I felt really good going into 17. I hit a bad shot and got a bad break, hit the tree and went into the water. Then to birdie 18 like I did was incredible."

Brendan de Jonge and Andres Romero both missed out on a play-off by just one shot, after recording rounds of 66 and 65 respectively.

Cameron Tringale, Jimmy Walker and Mark Woodland ensured it was a crowded top five, as they also finished at nine-under - with Kyle Stanley and Webb Simpson left to wonder what might have been as they rounded out the top ten at seven-under.

Englishman Brian Davis had a level par round of 70 to finish just inside the top 20 at five-under, while Sergio Garcia finished some way back at two-under after a finishing 68.
