Piercy claims first PGA Tour title

Scott Piercy picked up his first PGA Tour victory after sinking a crucial seven-foot par putt on the final hole at the Reno-Tahoe Open in Nevada.
The American signed for a two-under 70 in the final round to finish at 15-under, holding off a late challenge from Pat Perez, who fired a four-under 68 to fall one-stroke short of glory. Piercy stormed into contention with a course-record 61 on Saturday, and found himself in a strong position on Sunday after sinking three birdies on the front nine.
However, Perez made a late charge with consecutive birdies at 12 and 13 to become tied atop the leaderboard at 15-under as Piercy bogeyed the 14th. But Perez also let a shot slip at 17, while Piercy ultimately held his nerve on the final green as he two-putted his way to victory.
Britain's Brian Davis ended up well off the pace as he carded a 74 on the final day to finish up in 21st-place on seven-under. Americans Steve Flesch and Blake Adams finished tied for third, two shots behind their compatriot Piercy at 13-under, with Jim Renner finishing a further shot back.
